Liverpool are understood to be lining up a swoop for Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr once again this summer.
The subject of serious interest from Merseyside before the arrival of Diogo Jota last summer, the Senegal international seems to have remained on the radar at the club.
Sarr was the scourge of Jurgen Klopp’s team at Vicarage Road back in the winter of 2020 as the 23-year-old scored twice to end an 18 game Premier League winning run.
According to a recent report from 90min, a summer transfer could be on the cards.
The report states Liverpool are prepared to pay up to £40 million for the winger and adds that the German has ‘long been an admirer’ of the player.
Following relegation from the top flight and interest from Liverpool, the forward hailed as ‘fantastic’ by John Barnes stayed in Hertfordshire and netted 13 Championship goals alongside 10 assists last term.
Under contract until June 2024 at Vicarage Road (Transfermarkt), forking out £40 million on Sadio Mane’s fellow countrymen would represent reasonable value.
Capable of playing across the frontline, Ismaila would provide maximum versatility to Jurgen’s ranks.
Touted with strong finishing and dribbling ability, the Watford man certainly possesses the fundamental attributes to flourish at Liverpool.
