Paris Saint-Germain have allegedly joined Liverpool and Manchester United in the hunt to sign Barcelona centre-half Ronald Araujo during this summer’s transfer market.
The Uruguayan star has entered the final 18 months of his deal at Camp Nou, and the La Liga giants are currently struggling to agree on an extension with the player.
Blaugrana president Joan Laporta recently admitted that the club weren’t close to reaching a full agreement with the South American over a fresh deal.
The Reds and the Red Devils are both believed to be interested in bringing Araujo to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
However, according to a report from Sport, there is also serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain, with the French outfit determined to recruit him for the 2022-23 season.
The youngster has been an important player for his team during the 2021-22 campaign, featuring in 30 matches in all competitions, registering three goals in the process.
The 23-year-old has made 69 appearances for the Catalan club since joining them from Boston River four years ago.
Elsewhere, former Premier League defender Rio Ferdinand has praised ‘world-class’ Liverpool ace Alisson.
“I think a big factor in getting your hands on the silverware is the goalkeeper, having that confidence and that commanding figure behind you,” he told BT Sport.
“No disrespect to the keepers that had been playing before him, but this is a world-class operator.”
