German giants, Borussia Dortmund have reportedly moved ahead of the Merseyside Reds in the race to secure services of Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid Karim Adeyemi.
The 19-year-old has made a scintillating start to the 2021-22 campaign with the Austrian champions, founding back of the net 14 times from 20 appearances in all competitions.
Adeyemi’s stellar form has earned him links with the likes of Premier League giants, Liverpool and Ligue 1 defending champions, Paris Saint-Germain, and the German striker recently said that he was “honoured” to be linked with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
However, Sport1 reports that Borussia Dortmund are now ‘in pole position’ to secure the services of Adeyemi, with the BVB boasting a particularly strong track record in developing young talent.
The report claims that Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl has already held personal talks with Adeyemi’s agent, and the German starlet could pocket £2.5m per year at the Westfalenstadion.
Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in Adeyemi, who is believed to be valued at €35m (£29.7m) by Salzburg.
Liverpool also in danger to miss out signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham who has recently made it clear that he has not plans to depart from BVB.
