Fiorentina director Joe Barone has revealed that the Serie A outfits are working on a contract extension for Dusan Vlahovic amid the rumours surrounding the forward’s future.
The 21-year-old striker has enjoyed a stunning 2020-21 season, for La Viola, founding back of the net 21 times in 37 Serie A games, and a number of teams have been credited with an interest in his signature.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both believed to be keen on the Serbia international, however, Barone has revealed that Serie A outfits are working to extend the forward’s contract, which is set to expire in June 2023.
“We’re monitoring the team as it is and after the pre-season training, we’ll see what we need to bring in. Vlahovic is a Fiorentina player, he has two years on his contract and we are working constantly with his agent over an extension,” Barone told reporters.
Vlahovic, who has also been rumoured with a move to Serie A giants, Juventus, has scored 29 goals in 84 games for his Italian team since making the move from Partizan in 2018.
The Spurs could be in the market for a Harry Kane replacement this summer, while the Merseyside Reds are believed to be keen to boost their attacking options ahead of the 2021-22 season.
