Liverpool in danger to miss out signing of 27-year-old La Liga midfielder

Arsenal are reportedly ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Real Betis attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir.

The 27-year-old playmaker has been a vital player for his Spanish team during the 2020-21 season, founding back of the net three times and providing six assists in 30 La Liga games.

The Frenchman was strongly rumoured with a switch Liverpool before joining Betis from Lyon, and a recent report suggested that the Jurgen Klopp’s side were considering reigniting their interest in the former Ligue 1 midfielder.

However, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Gunners are in pole position to secure the services of Fekir during this summer’s transfer window, with North London giants, head-coach, Mikel Arteta is a keen admirer of his talents.

Fekir, who has more than two years left on his current deal with Real Betis, has managed to found back of the net 10 times and provide 13 assists in 63 games for his current side in all competitions.

Mikel Arteta’s side are keen to sign on-loan Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis this summer while Liverpool have also expressed interest in Norway international star, however, Los Blancos are allegedly preparing for him to make a return to the team at the end of the season.
