Liverpool join Barcelona in battle to sign German sensation

Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly entered the race with La Liga giants Barcelona to secure the services of Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid Karim Adeyemi.

The 17-year-old has managed to found back of the net eight times in 13 games while on loan at Liefering in Austrian Bundesliga 2 this campaign and has attracted interest from hosts of teams from Europe.

His parent team, Salzburg, have a strong track record of poaching some of the most promising players in northern Europe, as seen with Erling Braut Haaland who has took Europe with a storm scoring eigh goals in five Champions League game, while also having found back of the net 15 times in 10 appearences at Austria Bundesliga.

According to Sport, Barcelona academy director Patrick Kluivert has been keeping tabs on talented German forward and keen on to lure him away from Salzburg, however, will face stiff competition for his signature from Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Merseyside Reds have had the first-hand experience of Adeyemi’s talent in the UEFA Youth League over the past year.

Borussia Dortmund are also believed to be keeping tabs on 19-year-old forward as he has been destined to play on a top level.
