Liverpool have reportedly joined the race for £34m-rated AS Monaco playmaker Aurelien Tchouameni.
The 21-year-old midfielder continues to play a vital role in the heart of Niko Kovac’s engine room, chalking up two goals from 15 games in all competitions already this campaign.
Chelsea and Juventus are both being tipped to make a move for Tchouameni in the summer of 2022, however, they are not expected to be the only two teams vying for the France international’s services.
According to Calciomercato, the Merseyside Reds are also keeping tabs on the Tchouameni’s situation as they eye a replacement for Dutch midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum, and AS Monaco value the starlet at £34m.
The report adds that Serie A giants, Juventus want Tchouameni as they make contingency plans for Weston McKennie and Aaron Ramsey’s possible departure, while Borussia Dortmund are also in the race as they plan for life without Axel Witsel.
Tchouameni – who has been called up to the France team for October’s fixtures – boasts five goals and four assists from 60 appearances in a Monaco shirt, and his contract at the Stade Louis II is due to expire in 2024.
