Liverpool keen on to agree deal for under-fire Man Utd forward

Liverpool are allegedly keeping tabs on Marcus Rashford’s situation at Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United, with the Anfield side ‘making it known they are admirers’ of the forward.

The 24-year-old is said to be considering his future at the Theatre of Dreams due to his struggles this campaign, and a number of outfits continue to be linked with the player’s services.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Xavi’s Barcelona have ‘expressed an interest’ in landing the England international, but the Merseysiders are also monitoring developments at his boyhood club.

The report adds that Rashford is not planning to leave the Red Devils in spite of the recent developments and instead is interested in opening talks over a fresh long-term deal.

His current deal in North West England is due to expire in the summer of 2023, although United have the option to trigger a 12-month extension on the agreement.

Rashford has netted five times and registered two assists in 26 outings for the 20-time English champions this term, managing just four goals in the PL.

The star was a second-half substitute in his side’s Champions League last-16 second leg with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid on Tuesday but failed to make his mark in United’s 1-0 loss.
