Liverpool have been monitoring highly-rated Benfica talent Henrique Araujo for a while but face competition from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the youngster’s signature.
That is according to a recent report from a Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who report the forward is one of the players currently being looked at by Xavi’s Barcelona also.
They say that the 20-year-old attacker has been earning himself a lot of plaudits this season with a couple of impressive performances for As Aguias’ youth set-up.
That includes three goals in the UEFA Youth League final win against RB Leipzig at the end of last month, his first goals in the tournament.
The paper added to what has been a brilliant campaign for him this campaign, in which Henrique has scored 17 goals in 33 matches in all competitions thus far, including a strike versus Vizela in the Primeira Liga back in November.
Those numbers have earned Araujo plenty of suitors, with Blaugrana keen and the Reds and the Citizens said to have been chasing him for some time.
Unfortunately for the aforementioned trio, they’ll encounter a Benfica side who are not interested in losing one of their prized possessions.
