Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Ruben Neves and Fabio Silva have reportedly emerged as surprise transfer targets for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
With several injuries occurring in the backline, Jurgen Klopp will prioritise a move for a new centre-back if the Merseyside Reds make addition in the winter transfer window.
However, according to the Daily Star, the Merseyside Reds are also contemplating doing business with Wolves for the second time in a year.
After luring Diogo Jota away from Molineux last summer, it is reported that Klopp is interested in agreeing a deal for Neves who has been identified as a perfect replacement to Wijnaldum who has been once again linked with a switch to La Liga giants, Barcelona.
The Portugal international has just two-and-a-half years left on his current deal, and the longer it takes to pen an extension will only lead to rumours regarding his future.
Silva, who only joined Wolves earlier this year, is also believed to be on Liverpool’s radar having previously worked with Liverpool coach Vitor Matos and Klopp identifed him as a replacement for frustrated Belgian forward Divok Origi who is likely to be on his way out from Anfield.
