German tactician Jurgen Klopp has revealed that both Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson are doubts to face Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth this weekend.
As reported on the Reds’ official website, Klopp was not able to put a time frame on the duo’s return after they missed the draw away to West Ham United on Monday night.
“Gini and Hendo, both would’ve played and then they cannot play. That’s not too cool, I don’t know how long it will take. That’s the situation, that was always clear. It’s a long season and you have to deal with the situation.”
After both featuring against Leicester City, neither were deemed fit enough to face the Hammers as the injuries begin to pile up at Anfield.
Jordan has been struggling with a muscle issue, while Georginio has a minor knee injury. The pair’s absence is another blow for the club, who have seen their title credentials questioned after two draws in the EPL.
Eddie Howe’s side secured an incredible result to beat Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea 4-0 at home, but were unable to follow that up and lost away at Cardiff City over the weekend.
