Liverpool have allegedly reached a total ‘agreement in principle’ to snap up Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho.
The Reds were on the brink of bringing the 19-year-old to Merseyside during the past transfer market before the January deadline halted any progress.
Now it’d appear that a deal for the rising star remains on the cards and a move to the English giants is a mere formality. That is according to a recent report from Football Insider.
The report continues, by stating that Jurgen Klopp’s side remain confident of pushing the proposed deal over the line for the exciting youngster following a winter medical.
So far this term Carvalho has scored seven times and picked up six assists in 27 EFL Championship outings.
He is out of contract at the end of this term, both clubs are understood to be interested in avoiding a tribunal to name the compensation fee.
Instead, the Premier League title-chasers may again be prepared to shell out £8 million for the gifted playmaker.
Predominantly playing in advanced central roles, he’d add a whole new dimension to the midfield ranks at the German tactician’s disposal and may well spell the end of the road for midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
