Liverpool opened transfer talks with prolific midifelder

Liverpool and Everton are both interested in signing Sporting Lisbon ace Bruno Fernandes during this transfer window.

Bruno Fernandes was linked with a move away from the Portuguese side during the summer following a debut campaign which saw him net 16 goals and provide 20 assists, but he ultimately stayed in Lisbon.

The midfielder has continued that fine form into the current campaign, though, netting 14 goals and creating nine more so far in 2018-19.

Neither Merseyside rivals are understood to be busy during the ongoing window, but Portuguese publication A Bola claims that they are interested in a deal for the 24-year-old.

The Portugal international has a €100m (£90m) release clause in his deal inserted, although he is believed to be available for closer to €40m (£36m).

Bruno Fernandes joined Sporting from Sampdoria back in 2017, having previously spent his entire professional career in Italy.

The versatile attacking midfielder would be a great addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side as the club lack classical No.10, and in the absence of pure playmaker, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri have the role of Philippe Coutinho, who left Anfield outfit for Barcelona in £140 million deal.
