Liverpool and Bayern Munich could reportedly planning to hijack Manchester United move Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
Sancho was the talk of the transfer window regarding a potential switch to Old Trafford, however, the 20-time English champions refused to fork out Dortmund’s asking price of £108m and he ultimately stayed put in the Germany top-tier.
A host of top European teams were also credited with an interest in the English forward during the summer window, and it now appears that the Red Devils will face some stiff competition if they are to try to secure Sancho’s services next time around.
Indeed, The Independent report that Sancho would prefer a switch to Liverpool rather than at Old Trafford and Jurgen Klopp is in a good position to push the Merseyside Reds to move for the forward having already touched base with him.
The report also claims that Sancho could follow in the footsteps of a number of players that have swapped Dortmund for fellow Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich over the years – namely Mats Hummels , Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze,
Despite failing in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, the Red Devils nevertheless clocked up a number of deadline day securing with the acquisitions of Edinson Cavani on a free agent, Alex Telles from Porto, Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore from Atalanta, the latter of whom will join in January.
