Liverpool could reportedly move for Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne this summer if the team are unable to agree on a deal for Bayern Munich’s winger Kingsley Coman.
The Merseyside Reds have allegedly identified French forward as a top transfer target, with head coach Jurgen Klopp keen to strengthen his attack ahead of the 2021-22 season.
However, Bayern could ultimately price the 24-year-old forward out of a move, and according to Italian journalist Fabio Santini, the Merseyside Reds are also showing an interest in Lorenzo Insigne.
The 30-year-old has found back of the net twice in five games for Italy at Euro 2020, while he has netted 109 times in 397 games for Napoli over the last 11 years.
Insigne’s current contract in Naples is set to expire next summer, though, and it is believed that he wants an improvement on his current £4.3m-a-year contract in order to sign an extension.
Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona are also believed to be interested in securing the services of the Italian during this summer’s transfer window and have allegedly already been in talks with his agent.
Meanwhile, Liverpool forward Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed his desire to depart from Anfield this summer and make a move to Seire A amid interest from Lazio.
