Liverpool plotting summer move for Leicester City forward

Liverpool are reportedly planning to make move for Leicester City versatile winger Harvey Barnes after conceding defeat in their pursuit of Wolves forward Adama Traore.

The Premier League giants are believed to have been quoted a figure of £60m for flying forward Adama Traore, which is out of their price range for the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Merseyside Reds have been looking at alternative transfer targets and Harvey Barnes is one of those that they believe can be snapped up for a far cheaper sum.

Barnes has played 35 games in the top flight for Leicester this campaign, being directly involved in 14 goals for Brendan Rodgers’s side.

The report suggests that the Citizens are reluctant to offload the talented winger, however, they need to raise funds through player sales to strengthen elsewhere.

Leicester City took on Manchester United in their final Premier League game of the 2020/21 on Sunday and defeat against the Red Devils have seen them miss out a spot in the Champions League for the next campaign.

Liverpool midfield pair Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri both have been linked with a departure from Anfield ahead of the next season.
