According to a recent report by an Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Liverpool are eager to launch a move to secure the signature of RB Salzburg centre-forward Erling Haaland.

However, the same source has also stated that the Reds will face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus and Manchester United in pursuit of the Austrian Bundesliga youngster.

The Norwegian sensation came through the youth set-up of Bryne FK before going on to join Molde FK back in 2017. The star finally managed to make a positive impression for the Norwegian side as he scored 20 goals in 50 matches for his former club on all fronts.

His incredible goal-scoring displays for Molde earned him a move to Salzburg where he has proved himself as a prolific goal-scorer.

He is currently one of the hottest talents in European football so Jurgen Klopp will do well to tempt him away from the Red Bull Arena. Haaland has the talent to be a world-class player in his position in the coming years.

He has begun this campaign on fire after scoring 18 goals and providing five assists in 11 games for the Austrian champions. He also managed to find the back of the net against Liverpool in the UCL at Anfield.

The addition of a striker of Erling’s potential will undeniably bolster Klopp’s attacking variants at Anfield. The European champions currently have Roberto Firmino, Rhian Brewster and Divock Origi as the only natural centre-forwards in Jurgen’s disposal at Anfield.
