Liverpool ready to beat Chelsea in race for highly-rated Spanish forward

Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio wants to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer, amid interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Spain international forward in the recent months has been rumoured with a move to Premier League following his limited first-team minutes under Zinedine Zidane.

The 22-year-old forward has started just nine La Liga appearances this time out, scoring four goals and adding four assists to their ranks.

And according to Spanish transfer outlet Diario Gol, Spaniard forward would leave the Real Madrid this summer.

They claim that Spanish winger already contacted Chelsea and Liverpool over a possible move.

Diario Gol say Jurgen Klopp’s side want Asensio as a possible replacement for Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho, while the defending Premier League champions are in for the forward with Eden Hazard’s Stamford Bridge future remains up in the air.

However, the Los Blancos president Florentino Perez wants to keep Asensio at the club as long as possible.

Perez has told the 22-year-old forward to hold out until the end of the current campaign before making a decision on his future at Bernabeu.

The Blues forward Eden Hazard is a long-term target for Real Madrid current manager Zinedine Zidane.
