Agent of World-Class No.8 midfielder talking to Liverpool and Man Utd
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Man Utd have reportedly expressed their interest in securing the services of Atletico Madrid playmaker Saul Niguez.
The 26-year-old Spaniard has fallen out of favour under Argentine head coach, Diego Simeone, and following the arrival of Rodrigo De Paul from Serie A outfit Udinese, the La Liga winners are now willing to let the Spaniard leave this summer.
La Liga giants, Barcelona are the current frontrunners for his services, as they have entered talks with Atletico over a potential swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez.
However, according to AS, Liverpool and Man Utd are waiting in the wings and will make a move for the playmaker if talks with the Catalan giants failed to materialise, with the player’s agent having already held discussions with both teams.
Despite having five years left on his current deal, Saul is valued by Atletico at just £34.3m, a figure that both Premier League teams are prepared to pay.
Since making his senior debut in March 2012, Saul Niguez has played 337 games for Atletico, founding back of the net 43 times and providing 19 assists.
Liverpool 25-year-old defender set to leave the club this summer
Liverpool defender Ben Davies could reportedly be set to depart from the club without having played a single minute for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The former Preston North End man was signed in during the last knockings of the January transfer window while Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez were recuperating from long-term injuries.
Turkish centre-back Ozan Kabak was also brought in on loan from Bundesliga giants Schalke 04, and while the Turkish defender pulled on the red shirt during his short stay, Davies is still waiting for his first taste of the Merseyside Reds action.
Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp’s side have secured the services of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, while Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams are also ahead of Davies in the Anfield pecking order.
As a result, The Sun reports that Davies could be heading for the exit door in the summer, and Sheffield United are hopeful of striking a loan contract for the 25-year-old.
Ben Davies played 145 games for boyhood team Preston before departing for Liverpool, where he was an unused substitute on eight occasions last campaign.
Liverpool determined to agree on a deal for highly-rated Chelsea midfielder
Liverpool are reportedly among a few teams looking to swoop for Chelsea wonderkid Lewis Bate.
The 18-year-old is out of the deal at Stamford Bridge next summer, and he is believed to be in a stand-off with the West London club over a new deal.
As a result, the Blues could opt to sell Bate this summer rather than watch a talented prospect leave for nothing in 2022, and a number of Premier League teams have supposedly been alerted to the situation.
According to the Daily Mail, the Merseyside Reds are keeping close tabs on developments surrounding the youngster, however, Leeds United, Southampton and West Ham United are all interested as well.
Bate is yet to make his senior debut for Thomas Tuchel’s club, however, he has made the bench on three occasions, once in the FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League.
The creative playmaker – capable of playing in a six or eight role – has found back of the net six times and provided five more for Chelsea at Under-18 level, and he made 20 Premier League 2 games for the Under-23s the last campaign.
