Blackburn have finalised signing of Liverpool promising winger

Blackburn have finalised the signing of Liverpool wonderkid Harvey Elliott on a season-long loan deal.

The promising 17-year-old has signed his first professional contract with Jurgen Klopp’s side back in July and has since then make nine appearances, he has joined the Reds from Fulham in the summer of 2019.

Following the Merseyside Reds exit from the Carabao Cup, future opportunities were limited for the England youth international so a decision was taken at Anfield to allow him to go on loan if the player wanted.

“Liverpool forward Harvey Elliott has joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 season,” said the Reds in a statement.

Elliott is the fourth arrival of the day at Ewood Park, following Middlesbrough stopper Aynsley Pears, who has signed a four-year deal, and Norwich’s Tom Trybull, Leeds’ Barry Douglas and , both on loan deals.

Liverpool another starlet Ben Woodburn has also departed from the club on the deadline day of the EFL transfer window, while Harry Wilson saga is also over as he has made a return to Cardiff City where he has played one of his best football.

Liverpool become favourites to sign French defensive rock next summer

Liverpool have reportedly moved ahead of arch rivals Man United in the race to secure services of RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano next summer.

The highly-rated Frenchman was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford during the next summer transfer window, however, the Red Devils ultimately put their interest on hold to focus on other targets.

The 21-year-old defender has a release clause in his current deal at RB Leipzig which will allow him to depart from the club for around £40m next summer, prompting a clamour for his services between some of Europe’s top clubs.

Liverpool and Man Utd had been leading the race, however, Spanish outlet Todofichajes reports that the Premier League defending champions have now moved to the front of the queue.

Both teams have already managed to concede 11 goals in this campaigns Premier League, with their defensive requirements being exposed as the Red Devils shipped six goals and Liverpool seven last time out.

Upamecano has emerged as one of the most coveted centre-backs in Europe and he is widely expected to depart from the German outfit next year, despite only agreed on a five-year contract with Leipzig in July.

However, reports have claimed that he will only consider joining a Champions League team.

Liverpool 23-year-old forward completes deadline day move to Cardiff

Cardiff have finalised the signing of Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on loan.

The Merseyside Reds ideally wanted a permanent deal for 23-year-old forward this summer but, despite interest from Burnley, the £20million price tag proved too high.

Liverpool reconsidered their stance and, the PA news agency understands, Cardif were the only ones to meet the financial package which includes a £1.2million loan fee and covering his full wages, with Norwich and Swansea where Wilson spent a previous loan spell also kept close tabs on his situation at the club.

“I’m looking forward to getting started here,” the Wales international told cardiffcityfc.co.uk.

“We had a few clubs enquire about me but as soon as I heard Cardiff were interested it was a place I wanted to come.

“The Welsh connection was a massive part for me. When I come here, I feel at home. I think the team and facilities we have, everything is built for a Premier League team.

“I’m determined to come here and do my best to help the club get there.”

Wilson has made just two games for the Merseyside Reds, a third-round FA Cup replay at Plymouth back in January 2017 and in the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out loss to Arsenal earlier this month.

Last season he has being loaned out at Bournmeouth that were relegated from the Premier League.
