Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been handed the new number 10 jersey for the 2018-19 campaign.
The Senegal International forward had previously worn the number 19 at Anfield, however, he will now inherit the shirt left vacant by the departure of Philippe Coutinho who made big money switch to Barcelona back in January.
The Senegal international forward becomes the seventh player to wear the number 10 shirt for the Merseyside Reds in the Premier League era, following John Barnes, Coutinho, Joe Cole, Luis Garcia, Andriy Voronin and Michael Owen.
The iconic number has also notably been worn by the Reds legends Sammy Lee, Jimmy Case, Terry McDermott Steve Heighway, John Toshack and Mark Lawrenson in the past.
Mane has found back of the net 20 times in 44 games for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, including 10 in just 13 Champions League appearances.
Meanwhile, handing Mane the No.10 jersey means that the Reds have ended up their interest in French attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir who has been heavily linked with a switch to Anfield since the opening day of the transfer window.

The Sun claims that the former Man Utd forward has turned down a new £125,000-a-week contract offer to remain at Selhurst Park, however, his issue is not to do with money as Ghanaian forward is keen on to play European football.
Zaha has the ambition to play for a bigger club and the same sources suggest that Dortmund and Everton are also interested to secure his services.
The 25-year-old sealed a £15m move from Manchester United to the South London team back in 2013.
However, it is claimed that Palace would demand £70m for their star player if he decides to leave.
Eagles boss Roy Hodgson recently stated: “He is our player for the next four years and the club has no interest or desire to sell him.”
Liverpool’s Summer signing Naby Keita is confident that his new team has a potential to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
The Merseyside Reds have only finished in fourth place last term – partly due to their run to the Champions League final – but Jurgen Klopp has already spent more than £170m ahead of the new campaign.
The Guinea international midfielder has joined Fabinho, Alisson, and Xherdan Shaqiri in arriving at Anfield, and the former RB Leipzig star has suggested that the first-team squad are made up to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League trophy.
The 23-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: “I know we have enough quality. It’s all about having the mindset and desire to want it and fight for it enough. I think that goes a long way, having that desire and belief.
“I’m someone who has this real winning mentality. I have a huge desire to win. That’s why I’m aggressive in a positive sense on the field.”
The Reds begin the new season with a home fixture against West Ham United on August 12.
