Liverpool have joined their Premier League rivals Chelsea, and Arsenal in the race for Boubakary Soumaré, according to the Le10Sport reports.
The sources from France claim, reliable previously in the instance of Fabinho’s move to Premier League, however, very often not, reports the Merseyside Reds now eyeing the 20-year-old, who has been brilliant for Lille in central playmaker.
Sky Sports reports at the beginning of January that Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd Manchester United all fancied the rangy starlet, who has shone in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season while representing France at U21 level.
Soumaré plays as one half of midfield for Lille, allowed to prowl left central areas of the field – making him a perfect man to fit in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
Of course, we already have multiple players competing for our three central roles – including Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Gini Wijnaldum, Naby Keita (when fit), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Adam Lallana.
The latter pair are in their 30s however and Adam Lallana is likely to leave the club at the end of the season as he has been rumoured with a switch to PSG.
Perhaps another option for the middle of the park will be targeted in the summer, however, it remains to be seen if Soumaré is that player.
