Liverpool have supposedly joined Man Utd and Real Madrid in the race to secure services of much-coveted Rennes playmaker Eduardo Camavinga.
The 18-year-old burst onto the scene under Julien Stephan last year and still has been a regular for Les Rouge et Noir, founding back of the net once and assisting one more in 30 Ligue 1 games this season.
Camavinga’s existing contract at Rennes expires at the end of the 2021-22 campaign, and he has reportedly decided that he will not extend his deal, so an intense bidding war for his services is now believed to commence this summer.
According to The Express, the Merseyside Reds have now identified the teenager as an ideal signing for the new season, as Georginio Wijnaldum’s impending exit at the end of the season inches ever closer.
The report adds that Jurgen Klopp’s side would have to fend off Real Madrid and Man United for Camavinga’s services, however, Jurgen Klopp will hope to lure the France international to Anfield with the promise of regular first-team football – something he would not be guaranteed of at Old Trafford or the Bernabeu.
Chelsea are also believed to be interested in a deal for Camavinga, who scored his first goal for French national team back in October’s 7-1 friendly thrashing of Ukraine.
