Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay £27m to secure services of Ajax centre-back Perr Schuurs when the transfer window will be re-opened in January.
With Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk both suffering season ending injuries, Jurgen Klopp has often used Fabinho in their place at the back.
However, the Mersyeside Reds midfield has now started to become stretched, leaving German boss to give more thought to new additions at the midway point of the season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Merseyside Reds may follow up their interest in Dutch prospect Schuurs.
The 21-year-old, who only has 19 months left on his current deal, has established himself as a regular in the centre of Ajax’s defence this campaign.
Liverpool allegedly feel that a bid of £27m will be enough to get a deal over the line.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are still ‘seriously thinking’ about signing Ozan Kabak in winter. Liverpool have linked with Schalke player several times.
It is noted that Turkey international could be allowed to leave Bundesliga giants in winter for a cut-price amount of €25m, due to the German club’s current financial issues. AC Milan are also seen as a strong contender sign Ozan, but the Merseyside giants appear to be right in the mix, too.
The Turkish centre-back would be the perfect addition in many ways, considering he is still just 20, and therefore wouldn’t expect to be playing every week
