Liverpool are reportedly planning to make a £20m offer for Real Madrid midfield maestro Toni Kroos.

The Germany international midfielder has only made two appearances for Real Madrid during the 2021-22 season following to injury, featuring in the recent loss to Sheriff Tiraspol and Espanyol.

Kroos’s current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu is due to expire in June 2023, meanwhile, and there have been talks that Los Blancos will look to freshen their midfield next summer, having already added Cammavinga from Rennes.

Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni are the two main targets for Carlo Ancelotti ahead of the next season.

According to El Nacional, the Merseyside Reds could test Real Madrid’s resolve to keep hold of Toni Kroos by offering a £20m offer for the German star during the January transfer window.

The midfielder has played 322 games for Los Blancos since joining the club from Bayern Munich in 2014, winning two La Liga trophies and three Champions League titles in the process.

Meanwhile, Liverpool also eyeing a move for Real Madrid winger Vinicious Jr as they see as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane.
