Liverpool reportedly face a fight for shot-stopper Ugurcan Cakir after Borussia Dortmund emerged as contenders for the Turkish star.

The 25-year-old player came through the Trabzonspor youth sector to cement his place as the side’s first-choice keeper and captain.

According to Fotospor, via Fanatik, the hunt is on to snap up Ugurcan with Liverpool and Dortmund both keen.

The Anfield side are set to wave goodbye to the Spanish star Adrian when his contract expires in the summer.

That would leave Irish talent, Caoimhin Kelleher, as first reserve to the Brazil international Alisson Becker amid talk of a new addition.

But BVB have already reportedly lodged a £17 million offer for Cakir. Trabzonspor are believed to be pondering the offer as the board consider their options.

It is thought the Super Lig giants want upwards of £25 million for their star man as well as a 25% sell-on clause.

A sale is surely on the cards with Gokhan Akkan of Caykur Rizespor and Istanbul Basaksehir’s Mert Gunok eyed as replacements.

Borussia have Marwin Hitz and Roman Burki as their two first-team goalkeepers but may be forced into an active summer if they fail to reach the UEFA Champions League.
