Liverpool urged to make approach for 23-year-old Chelsea forward

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been no strangers when it comes to landing players from fellow Premier League sides over the years such as Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane from Southampton, Diogo Jota from Wolves and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal to name a few.

With this in mind, it looks as though the Merseyside outfit could potentially make a swoop to sign another top-flight star in the near future.

According to a fresh report from the Daily Star, the England international Mason Mount has become frustrated at Chelsea because of his treatment in contrast to other high-profile stars there.

The report also states that Liverpool would be an eye-catching move for Mount who is apparently thrilled by the prospect of playing in front of supporters at Anfield.

One source told the newspaper: “He is torn because he loves the club (Chelsea) and the fans, but thinks it’s time for him to leave to step up his career. And where better to do that than Liverpool?”

He has made a total of 121 first-team appearances for his side across all competitions in which the player has managed to score 20 goals and pick up 17 assists in the process.

A move to Merseyside could give Michael Edwards the chance to make his final transfer masterclass at the English side before leaving his position as their sporting director in the summer.
