Hertha are prepared to begin talks with Liverpool’s hierarchy over the possibility of signing Marko Grujic permanently, according to recent reports in Germany.
Germany’s leading sports magazine Kicker – via Buli News – reports that Hertha manager Michael Preetz want to keep Serbian star beyond his loan spell.
The technically gifted midfielder is halfway through his campaign-long loan spell in German top flight and he has scored twice in 10 games for his club.
Since his 2016 move to Anfield outfit, Grujic has only managed 14 matches for the club, as well as 14 out on loan at Cardiff. But nonetheless, German boss Jurgen Klopp should not be too hasty in deciding the star’s long-term future.
The Serbia international is progressing well at Die Alte Dame and could return to the Reds ready to make an impression on the senior team.
The left-footed versatile midfielder could even be a direct replacement for Liverpool star James Milner if the veteran Englishman leaves in the summer.
James Milner is out of contract at the end of this campaign and he might be leaving Anfield outfit as a free agent.
