Liverpool will sign creative No.7 if Lorenzo Insigne transfer breaks down

August 14, 2017

According to the reports, Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp will turn to German attacking midfielder Max Meyer if top target Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli turns Liverpool down.

The Merseyside giants are looking for potential replacements of Philippe Coutinho amid fears they could lose their battle to keep their star player.

Coutinho wants out of Liverpool and Barcelona could launch the third and the record-breaking bid after seeing two offers turned down.

Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne is believed to be Liverpool’s No.1 choice to come in for the Brazilian. The Italy international scored 20 goals for Serie A giants Napoli last term and Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the attacker.

But the German boss will turn to Max Meyer if the Italian doesn’t fancy a switch.

The 21-year-old has just a year left on his contract at Schalke and The People say he’s turned down a new offer. And they add he’s open to moving to Liverpool and taking up the opportunity to work with Klopp.

It is believed that Bayern Munich are also keen on Meyer.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been tracking the youngster, who helped Germany win the Under-21 European Championships last summer.
