Liverpool world-class duo set to miss Crystal Palace clash

Liverpool could reportedly be without Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah for Saturday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

The duo were forced to pull out of international duty (both ankle injuries) and are now serious doubts for the trip to Selhurst Park.

But manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to have England international Joe Gomez available after the star withdrew from the England roster before their 4-0 win over Kosovo last week after suffering a minor knee injury in training.

Midfielders Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson, both of whom suffered some illness during the international duty, are also expected to play.

Mohamed has been struggling with an ankle problem since a heavy challenge from Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury during the Anfield outfit’s 2-1 win early last month.

It forced the Egypt winger out of Liverpool’s 1-1 draw versus Manchester United at Old Trafford – the only time they have dropped points in the PL this season – and he aggravated the problem after being caught by Fernandinho, the Manchester City star, during the 3-1 win at Anfield this month.

Salah flew to his homeland to be assessed and returned to Merseyside wearing a protective boot after withdrawing from Egypt’s matches against Kenya and Comoros.

Robertson was also forced to withdraw from his country’s international games against Kazakhstan and Cyrpus with a swollen ankle sustained in the City win.

The potential loss of two highly influential stars will be a blow as Liverpool bid to maintain or extend their eight-point lead at the top of the PL.
