Long-serving Chelsea forward keen on to sign contract extension

Chelsea winger Willian has been left frustrated in his wish to pen a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian winger has spent the last five-and-a-half years at west London, with 51 goals being scored from 272 appearances in all competitions.

The 30-year-old has been recently linked with a move to Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain, but according to UOL, the skilled winger would prefer to stay at the club as the player admitted multiple times that he loves the club and wants to stay as long as possible.

However, the report adds that Premier League giants are remaining firm over their stance to only offer one-year contract extensions to any player who is 30 years of age or older.

Selecao star would rather pen a new three-year contract with the English side, which would take his stay at the club to 2022.

At the moment Willian earns £120,000 per week, and the Brazil international appears to be an integral part of the Maurizio side as the Blues rejected big money offers for him to stay at the club with Barcelona submitting three bids in the summer transfer window.
