Man United in pole position to sign £63m-rated Serie A defender

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly ended their interest in securing the services of Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and it gives hopes to Man Utd and Liverpool.

With Napoli believed to be open to parting ways with their most prized asset later in 2020, a number of club have been rumoured with the Senegalese international defender.

Despite the financial implications from the coronavirus pandemic, Newcastle United, Everton, Man Utd and Liverpool are all believed to be fans of the 28-year-old.

However, according to Le Parisien, Ligue 1 giants PSG have had second thoughts about making a big-money move for the defender

The report claimed that the French giants have no intention of meeting Serie A giants, Napoli asking price, believed to be in the region of £63m.

Nevertheless, it has previously been reported that Koulibaly was against a switch to Ligue 1 due to a lack of competition at the top end of the table.

Meanwhile, Liverpool and Man Utd also eyeing a move for another Napoli star Dries Mertens, Belgian forward has been rumoured with a departure from Stadio Sao Paolo and according to the rumours from Italy Premier League could be his next destination.
