According to the reports, Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea has altered his contract demands due to Alexis Sanchez‘s arrival at Old Trafford.
The current deal of the Spaniard expires in June 2019, although the Red Devils have the option to extend it for a further year.
The 27-year-old De Gea, who is still wanted by Real Madrid, is currently earning £210,000-per-week and was looking for increased wages which would put him level with Paul Pogba around £300,000-per-week. But as per the Daily Mirror, De Gea has now reconsidered because of Sanchez’s transfer during the January window.
Man United have made Alexis Sanchez the highest-paid player in the Premier League and it was reported that De Gea wants to be second to the former Arsenal star in the pecking order at Old Trafford
The Spain international is reportedly asking for a deal worth £350,000-per-week and Man United are keen to complete a new agreement before their first-choice goalkeeper leaves to take part in the World Cup with Spain this summer.
‘The financial reality has completely altered for David and his people in terms of what his next deal should be worth,’ a source at United told The Sun.
‘Last year it was thought getting closer to £250,000 a week would be realistic. ‘He has seen United have even deeper pockets that even they first imagined. He is ready to go to a lot more.
