Man United set to snub AC Milan interest in signing of 22-year-old defender

Diogo Dalot has reportedly been informed that he will not be granted a move to Italian giants, AC Milan this summer.

The 22-year-old full-back has featured wrongly on loan with AC Milan last campaign and is supposedly eager to join the Serie A runners-up permanently.

However, the Manchester Evening News reports that Dalot has been instructed to make a return to Old Trafford after the end of the Euro 2020, for pre-season training next month as he is part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.

Portugal international Dalot, who can play on both flanks, is contracted with the Red Devils until 2023 and will provide competition for Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the full-back positions.

The Red Devils are also rumoured to be interested in securing the services of former Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier, however, Atletico Madrid are believed to want a fee in the region of €50m (£42.9m that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are refusing to pay.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are reportedly growing increasingly confident of securing the deal for Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are desperate to bring in a new long-term defensive partner for Harry Maguire, with doubts over Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly

Spain international defender is also believed to be high on Real Madrid’s list of targets ahead of the next season, though, and still has another three years left before his contract expires at Villarreal.
