It has been revealed recently that Manchester United will offer their star goalkeeper David De Gea a new contract deal to put him alongside the club’s top earners in a bid to persuade the 26-year-old star to reject Real Madrid.
Club’s summer signing Paul Pogba is currently the highest paid player at the Old Trafford but the Red Devils are desperate to keep hold of De Gea and will offer him a deal on par with the Frenchman.
The Champions League holders Real Madrid have reignited their interest in the Spaniard after seeing a move for David De Gea collapse on deadline day in 2015.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have failed to submit the paperwork for De Gea’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu on time and he signed a new four-year deal at Old Trafford.
As per the Sun, despite having some time to remain on his existing deal, the Red Devils are aware of the interest and believe a new deal could help persuade De Gea to turn down Madrid.
Man United side have been linked with moves for Inter’s Samir Handanovic and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma but Jose Mourinho’s side would rather hold on to De Gea, who joined the club in 2011 from Atletico Madrid.
