Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United have held talks over hot transfer property Kai Havertz, however, face competition from Man City.

Havertz has been rumoured with the Red Devils and the Merseyside Reds for some time, however, according to reports from Germany they are among six teams who have spoken to the German outfits Bayer Leverkusen star’s agents about a contract.

The Citizens are another of the team interested, with their manager Pep Guardiola needing to strengthen his midfield area with David Silva set to play his final year at Etihad Stadium.

La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen on the 20-year-old midfielder, as well as Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich, according to Bild reports.

Havertz has took part in 20 goals last campaign as Leverkusen finished fourth in the Germany top-tier and qualified for the Champions League.

The Germany international has managed to found back of the net three times in 16 appearances so far this campaign, with Bild reporting that Leverkusen demand £111million for Harvetz.

The Bavarians may have the advantage in the race to secure the services of him, with Kai Havertz himself saying last month: “If you want to be a star in Germany, you can’t go wrong with Bayern.”

However, Bild has previously reported that he is open to the idea of signing for the Red Devils, claiming that he is ‘excited by the project’.

Havertz has also previously been rumoured with interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
