Manchester United have reportedly rejected an enquiry from Arsenal into the availability of their centre-back Eric Bailly.
Ivorian defender has struggled for game time under former Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho and current head-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford this campaign, making just six Premier League starts.
The Gunners are looking to strengthen their defensive end this month having seen their defence decimated by series of injuries at times this season, and had earmarked Bailly as their target.
The North London club have made an enquiry as to the possibility of signing the Ivorian centre-back on a season-long loan deal until the end of the campaign with a view to making the move permanent, however, the reports claim that the Red Devils have turned down an approach.
Man Utd are unwilling to lose Bailly midway through the campaign and are particularly reluctant to do business with their rivals.
Bailly’s current contract expires at Old Trafford in 2020, although the Red Devils have the option to extend that by a further two years and the player himself is believed to be eager to remain at the club.
