Jamie Carragher does not believe Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish is the right fit for Manchester United.
The Red Devils hold a long-standing interest in the attacking midfielder whose value has continued to soar after another brilliant season in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old penned a new long-term deal with the Villa last September with the club now understood to be valuing their talisman at £100 million.
With Paul Pogba recently thriving in a position on the left of United’s midfield with academy graduate Marcus Rashford also at his best on that side of the pitch, Jamie believes their priorities could be somewhere else – particularly if Pogba signs a contract extension at Old Trafford.
‘I don’t think he’d fit in at Old Trafford just because of the players they have got, not because of his talent,’ Jamie told Sky Sports.
‘They’ve got Pogba on that left a lot, [Bruno] Fernandes, Rashford likes to play on that side. I don’t think he is a must for Manchester United, I think he has definitely got the quality.’
In other news, the Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho has already started planning for next campaign with Roma and will reportedly try to bring Manchester United midfielder, Nemanja Matic, to the Eternal City.
