Manchester United are prepared to spend around £70m on Everton stopper Jordan Pickford if they lose David de Gea after the end of the current campaign.
Man Utd are bracing themselves for Spaniard exit next season, as the Spanish stopper has held off from signing a contract extension.
The Red Devils have the option to extend the PSG target’s deal by a further year, however, they may instead cash in on the player rather than lose him for free in 2020.
Preparations are already in place for De Gea’s exit, with Pickford supposedly top of the Red Devils wishlist.
According to The Mirror, Man Utd are ready to make the England no.1 the world’s most expensive stopper, eclipsing the sums paid by the Blues and Liverpool to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga and Alisson Becker respectively.
Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland in a £30m deal and now the Merseyside Blues are likely to demand double price.
