Manchester United duo Phil Jones and Eric Bailly have allegedly told their teammates that they’ll be leaving Old Trafford in the summer transfer market.
In spite of the team’s defensive struggles this season, interim boss Ralf Rangnick has largely kept faith with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane, in spite of heavy criticism falling the way of the Englishman.
As a result, Phil and Eric have often been restricted to the bench for the Red Devils, and the Ivorian recently took to social media to let out his frustrations at being benched by the club captain.
Ahead of their loss to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in April, he responded “Please!” to an Instagram user who called for Bailly to start over Maguire – the record signing was benched at the Emirates Stadium after a bomb threat to his home as the side lost 3-1.
With Erik ten Hag expected to oversee a major shake-up at the back, the Manchester Evening News states that both players have now outlined their intentions to quit United.
As well as Bailly and Jones, Nemanja Matic has announced he will leave at the end of the term, while Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Lee Grant and Edinson Cavani are all set to depart as free agents.
