Manchester United have reportedly identified Real Madrid highly-rated midfielder Federico Valverde as a transfer target next summer.
The 22-year-old has worked his way into Zinedine Zidane’s first team over the last three campaigns and is now a vital player for the Spanish giants, already featuring on five occasions in La Liga this season.
Uruguay international midfielder still has five years left to run on his current deal at the Bernabeu, while there is believed to be a £640m release clause in his contract at Real Madrid.
However, according to The Sun, the Red Devils are keeping a close tabs on the Uruguay international as the rumours surrounding Paul Pogba’s future continues to gather pace.
France international star is recently believed that he ‘dreams’ of making switch to Real Madrid, and the report suggests that the Red Devils would be open to a swap deal involving Valverde, who has played 74 games for Los Blancos in all competitions.
The 20-times English champions, head-coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said last week that Pogba will remain at Old Trafford next two years, however, there remains uncertainty surrounding the world-cup winning midfielders future, who was a second-half substitute in Saturday’s 4-1 victory against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
