Man Utd eyeing move for 22-year-old French defender

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly be set to do battle for defender Evan N’Dicka this summer.

That is according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who states the centre-half is ‘highly courted’ and both sides are ‘following’ him.

He has established himself as an important player for Eintracht Frankfurt in the last few campaigns but has stood out this term with a series of impressive showings in the Bundesliga and UEFA Europa League.

The latter tournament’s trophy was one that they lifted and something that has only ramped up interest in the player.

Newcastle United are said to be big admirers of him, but Fabrice says it is actually the Red Devils and Spurs who are following him.

Both teams are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements this summer, with the 20t-time English champions’ defence a particular weak spot and the Lilywhites’ not quite where manager Antonio Conte would want it.

Evan could be an option and both sides’ chances of getting N’Dicka will be boosted by recent reports that Die Adler would be looking to sell in the upcoming transfer window.

That makes a proposed deal extremely possible this summer, although it remains to be seen to what extent United and Tottenham are interested.
