Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has dismissed speculation surrounding his future at Nou Camp and insists he wants to remain with the Spanish giants.
The former Sevilla man has been strongly linked with a switch to the Premier League in recent months, with both Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be interested in securing his services.
The midfielder who has joined the Spanish giants from Sevilla back in 2014 and has won 12 major honours in his five years at Nou Camp, Rakitic’s deal runs until 2021 and the midfielder is adamant he is keen on to remain at the Catalan club despite interest from Premier League.
‘Since I’ve been here I do not know how many times I’ve left and I’m back,’ joked Rakitic.
‘I’m more than happy here and my intention is to be here longer. I gave the president a little nudge to see if he would wake up with my renewal.’
Maurizio Sarri hoped to sign Rakitic as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas who has left the team for AS Monaco, while Man Utd are also eyeing move for his signature following the departure of Fellaini.
