Manchester United are reportedly prepared to hijack Liverpool move to signing RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate this summer.
The Merseyside Reds are believed to have identified the Frenchman as a possible addition in the upcoming market, even though German outfits sporting director Markus Krosche recently played down rumoured about a possible switch to Anfield.
Like Liverpool, Mna Utd is also keen to sign a new central defender in the summer and Konate is now another player that has been rumoured with a switch to Premier League.
The 20-times English champions primary centre-back targets still has beenVillarreal’s Pau Torres and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, however, according to Eurosport, failing to sign one of these La Liga defenders they could try and hijack Liverpool’s move for Konate.
The 21-year-old is valued at around £34m by the German outfit and will only be allowed to depart from the club if the right offer is made.
Konate, who has suffered with an ankle injury for much of this campaign, he has made only 10 Bundesliga games, founding back of the net once in a 3-0 win over Freiburg in November.
