Man United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani’s contract situation at the club ahead of a possible summer move.
The 33-year-old forward looks increasingly likely to depart from the Parc des Princes at the end of the current season, when his deal with the French giants expires.
Clubs from South America and across Europe have been credited with a strong interest in the veteran forward, and the Manchester Evening News claims that the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on his signature.
Man Utd head-coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has once again made the signing of a new centre-forward his top target for the upcoming transfer window, having been limited to a loan deal for Nigeria international forward Odion Ighalo during the winter transfer window.
A permanent agreement for veteran forward remains an option, while the Red Devils have also been rumoured with the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Moussa Dembele and Cavani is viewed as another option to strengthen their squad.
The Uruguay international has seen game time reduced at PSG this campaign after the arrival of Mauro Icardy but is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with founding back of the net 200 times in 300 games.
However, he is believed to want to play the Champions League football next camp[aign if he opts to stay in Europe – a competition the Red Devils are still in a battle to qualify for.
