Everton are reportedly weighing up a January move for the rumoured Manchester United target Moussa Dembele.
The Toffees are struggling for goals this campaign and find themselves in the bottom three.
Manager Marco Silva has been backed by the Toffees board since joining last summer and is planning to go again in January.
Moise Kean arrived from Serie A side Juventus for over £25 million but has not been able to hit the ground running in Premier League.
Dembele is one of the strikers on Manchester United’s radar and the Toffees are prepared to go toe to toe with them for the £40m-rated striker.
According to Football Insider, the Toffees a preparing a dossier on the former Celtic ace and travelled to Saint Etienne to watch him.
Ousmane came on after an hour, but could not prevent them going down to a defeat.
Everton though are optimistic they can prise the 23-year-old star away from the French side.
Ousmane has managed to bag 26 goals since his £19.7 million move just over a year ago.
This term Les Gones frontman’s goal tally is only one short of the entire Toffees team in the Premier League.
Everton have lost their last four matches, which is in part down to a lack of productivity in the attack, but Silva does not think his future is in question.
“Of course, I don’t have doubts about that (his future). All the feedback I had in the last few days and last week as well, goes in this way,” Marco said.
“If they saw the game, and for sure they saw, they can analyse and they will have seen the same thing that I saw and I don’t see that as being reason for things to change, to be honest.”
