Man Utd open talks with 6-goals French centre-forward

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Moussa Dembele about a transfer to Old Trafford in January. The Lyon forward has long been connected with a transfer move to the Premier League and the Red Devils have scouted him repeatedly in the latest months.

Dembele has scored six goals in eight Ligue 1 matches this season and United have earmarked him as an ideal addition to their squad. Injuries to Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial this season has exposed the club’s lack of depth in the forward department.

The Daily Record claim Manchester United have opened talks with Moussa about a January switch and the striker is interested in the prospect of becoming a Red Devil. Les Gones too appear open to a deal and believe they can fetch as much as £71m for Dembele.

The French club are on the hunt for a new head coach after sacking Sylvinho. Dembele was not happy with his reduced role under Sylvinho.

Memphis Depay would often be played as Les Gones’ central striker, but that could change with a new coach at the helm.

The Red Devils are facing a busy winter market as pressure continues to build on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his roster.

While Ole’s summer signings have impressed, United are stranded just two points above the relegation spots in the Premier League.

United have been connected with a host of strikers ahead of the January market, including Bournemouth star Callum Wilson and Juventus frontman Mario Mandzukic.
