Manchester United are keen on signing Stoke City whizkid Emre Tezgel, according to the latest reports.

The 16-year-old Emre has enjoyed a rapid rise through the Black Cats’ academy and the attacker is highly regarded at the club.

As a 15-year-old Tezgel featured regularly for the U18s side last campaign before training with the U23s over the summer.

And the player’s form at club and international youth level has attracted interest from United, as well as Manchester City and Chelsea – with all three clubs tracking the ace, according to the Daily Mail.

Emre is part of England’s U17s team and helped his nation reach the final of the Syrenka Cup in Poland the previous month, scoring four goals in three matches along the way and he was named player of the tournament.

For Stoke City, Tezgel has netted seven goals in four outings for the U18s, in spite of coming up against older opponents.

But according to the club’s academy boss Gareth Owen, the teen already plays like an experienced pro, comparing him to Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

He said: “Tezgel’s a Harry Kane-type centre-forward. That gets bandied about but his movement is good, he can hold the ball up and he is decent in the air.

“His main attribute, though, is his finishing and that’s what good centre-forwards have.

“He plays like a seasoned pro, pulling off at an angle, giving little nudges to the centre-back and making space. It’s great to have that bank of knowledge already at his age.”
