Manchester United are plotting a £92 million double deal for Ivan Perisic and Ante Rebic. The Croatian duo starred in their historic World Cup run that saw their country finish as runners-ups. Ivan Perisic was particularly impressive during the tournament and rejected the chance last summer transfer window to join United.
Jose Mourinho admitted he was baffled as to why Perisic turned down the switch, but the Sun is claiming the Manchester United boss now wants to return for the winger, who would cost £48 million and the Red Devils would be in with a fight to lure the 29-year-old away from Inter. The Serie A giants would surely demand big money for the World Cup star, as would Rebic’s current club, Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ante Rebic has caught Jose Mourinho’s eye playing on the opposite side to Ivan Perisic and is considered to be valued at around £44m. If Manchester United were to complete the £92m deal, it would more than double their spending this transfer window. The signings of Brazilian midfielder Fred, young defender Diogo Dalot and back-up goalkeeper Lee Grant has cost a combined £75m this summer.
