Man Utd plotting move for Barcelona 6 ft 5 centre-back

Ronald Araujo made his senior team debut for Barcelona three years ago and has been a regular for Blaugrana since last season, with his present deal expiring in the summer of 2023.

The centre-back’s contract situation and performances has resulted in interest from other sides and one among them is Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United.

Earlier last month, Sport reported the 22-year-old star is a ‘desirable player’ for the Premier League giants. Later in February, Mundo Deportivo explained the 20-time English champions are crazy about landing him.

Fast forward to March and another Spanish outlet Marca has a fresh report that focuses on the efforts made by the La Liga giants to sign Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen and an update on the Uruguay international.

It’s stated the Old Trafford outfit are ‘very interested’ in snapping up the South American defender in the summer. The Red Devils’ interest in him is also discussed by El Chiringuito’s Dario Montero.

He claims the player’s renewal at Camp Nou is frozen and that is because the board’s proposal did not even reach €4 million per year with their offer.

Meanwhile, they are ready to hand him an annual net salary of €10 million, which is more than 2.5 times what the Catalans have offered to extend his present deal.
